I found this to be pretty helpful since I got the jewelcase-only edition from gogamer.com. Takes some practice (singleplayer is good for this), but you can really wreak havoc from long distance once you get good at this. 😎

The scout part I've used once before on accident.

The problem with it is trying to get some guy you don't know to sit somewhere and use the binoculars to get you that view.

It's hard enough to find guys who won't blow up their own planes, let alone some guy who'll scout for you. 🙂

Well said, people get so angry in that game if they cant get a plane for themselves, that they just blow up there teamates. its so gay.

That's for damn sure. It is impressive tho when a team actually gets their collective act together and works unselfishly. I got on a good server playing conquest-Iwo Jima the other night and we (as axis) won like 6 out of 7 rounds this way. We'd get planes in the air, use scouts to paint and then sink the allied ships, and keep the pillboxes manned at all times. Poor allied never had a chance. 😀

There should be an automatic 1-minute timeout for each TK in my opinion. Too much of that sh*t going on in games. No switching sides once the round starts either, one team will start losing and a couple of their members will switch and start sabotaging the other team....very annoying.

 
Recently the ArsClan group locked down the server for Ars only people. We also used TeamSpeak for voice chat.

My god, I have never seen such furious action there before. Played BattleAxe, Wake and Berlin. All I have to say is WOW.

I'm pretty good on the server, more often than not getting a medal (32 person server, usually 2/3 full). But damn, that night you had to work for it.
 
I was playing Battleaxe the other day and from the moment the match started, the axis were just completely organized, but not intentionally. I think we just had a good group of people who knew how to play the game and we literally owned the entire map the entire match. It got to the point where we were just camping out at their spawn with tanks they were doing so badly. It was unbelieveable and it's the part of the game that I like the most. When you can work as a team and destroy the other one, it makes the game 100 times better to play.

Yeah, I've seen that before. It just goes to show how lopsided the game can be with one side organized and the other not.

One team just steamrolls the other and its all over. Especially true on some of the smaller to mid sized maps.
 
We should try and get a game going with AT people. Maybe find a good server to use. I see a lot that don't have anyone in them a lot of the time.

Just use the ArsClan one assuming the ping is good for you. A fair number of people here play on that server since its pretty stable.

neomits is Doc Holiday and I'm MurderDeathKill. A few others play over there but I don't remember who's name matches to what.

I totally agree.... we used to have a good following of ATOT Battlefield peeps but as time went on it drifted off and a few of us went over to arsclan

This is sort of off-topic for the thread, but has anyone experienced a problem where the map changes, but you get sent to a different map than what the system switched to?

Sometimes the map will change to, say, Wake and then everyone joins, I can't spawn and then I just get booted from the server. Then I go back to the server and it's on a different map.
 
I got tired of fighting for planes or waiting for them. SO I decided become a scout and its actually pretty great. Put yourself in a remot location and just use the scope to pick people off. Can't wait to go home and fire up the game.

I generally play as an engineer since they're so versatile. You don't typically get a lot of kills, but you do frustrate the sh*t out of the enemy if you are constantly blowing up their bunkers, guns, planes, etc. Not to mention you can really turn the tide of a tank battle if you are running around fixing things and the enemy's engineers aren't.

Artillery is a wonderful thing. When you have a scout worth his salt, and someone in a mobile artillery gun, your team can *own* any strategic point on a map. Wish more people would realize this.

Hopped in and played on the ars server for a while yesterday, definitely a bit more organized than the typical clusterf*ck on most servers. 😎
