I bought IL-2 Forgotten battles off D2D and have since become addicted to the game, so much so that I want every expansion and patch available. It turns out that if you buy games from direct2drive that A) you can't use any expansions B) you can't use any patches unless D2D offers them (and they don't 95% of the time) they are also more expencive than buying a disc copy most of the time and their downloader is idiotic that it doesn't even have any validation check to prevent files from becoming corrupted. Their downloader program merely exists to shovel advertisements down your throat. I asked for a refund upon discovering this info and they sent me some automated email saying nothing about resolving the issue and only that the ticket had been resolved. When I try to log into the support page it says that my email address and password are invalid, when requesting a new password it says that no user account exists with my email address (great now they deleted my account?)
They suck, you get more offcial support if you illegally pirate the games. I don't know how someone hasn't sued them yet or filled a BBB complaint against them.
