Mmm... Picked up WiC, Sid Meier's Railroads!, and Battlestations: Pacific. I despise D2D, but with the free download protection, it was worth it.

Have the hardest time installing Assassins Creed; first the installer itself would core dump on me, now it is asking me to insert the CD. And yes, it is a pain having to d/l this almost 6Gig file multiple times; takes over 12 hours lol. Thinking about just d/l the no cdrom crack, is probably faster.

World in Conflict has no DRM, so if I buy it, is it a file that I can burn to a DVD(s)?

I know I'd have access to the download but I'd hate to do it over again.

Oops nevermind, answers in the faq:

Once you have downloaded the file you are welcome to save it for later on a cdrom. Save yourself time downloading again. Remember, each time you install and activate the game you are deactivating the previous license. Install wisely! If you need help, Customer Service is ready! Please note that games are often updated without a separate patch being released. If you save your game files to CDRom or DVD - it's possible that you may have an older version of the game should you install your game at a later date.

I bought world in conflict gold, but it seems like I can only do the soviet assault missions. How do I get access to the other missions?

You do both sides and it starts with the Soviets. You can't play just one side. The expansion added the Soviet side to the game.

While the prices are sweet the software sucks.

I bought 5 games, WiC, CoH, Drakensang, SupCom, and BioShock.

I tried downloading WiC and Drakensang multiple different ways and can't get either to work. I did use the D2D download manager and tried through firefox and chrome separately as well as trying different extractors, 7-zip and winzip, both recommended by d2d.

Of the 5 games bought, i can get 2 games to work, supcom and bioshock.

It really is not worth the effort to try and get this crap to work. For system specs, e8400 OC 3.6, ati4890, 4g ram, vista 64 ultimate. Just so much pain to get even the 2 games to work. I never thought anything would make me wish for Steam, but this D2D totally sucks.

I've bought 6 games from D2D, zero problems getting any of them to install, not sure what's going on for you. It think it's awesome, definitely a sale that will make me more likely to buy stuff from D2D in the future.

I bought and downldoaded one game, Titan Quest Gold. Went very smoothly downloading and installing, TQ works like a charm, the expansion crashes-but from reading online it's probably a problem with the ancient computer I'm used (an Athlon built before PCI-E was even out). If my computer could handle them I'd definately buy more, in fact I'm thinking of purchasing a few and just banking them until I upgrade.

Titan Quest is all kinds of awesome, I probably put more time into it then Diablo 2, and I put a lot of time into Diablo 2.

Holy fucking shit. I think I am addicted to Civ 4. Never played a Civ before, but this is excellent.
Anyone have an opinion on the expansions? Are they worth the extra $?

I'll do it for you with the understanding that I accept no liability for whether or not it works...I'm not sure how their verification process works, so I can't guarantee that you'll be able to activate the game from where you are.

Maybe you can - I just have no idea. Shoot me a PM if you want me to try.

All of the expansions are excellent. Also the free mod Fall From Heaven is incredible. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171398

Don't mess around with buying expansions though. Just pick up a copy of Civ 4 Complete. It contains all the expansions, a copy of Civ 4 Colonization, and is copy protection free (I keep a version on my laptop and desktop).

Beyond the Sword is good, but so is Warlords as it adds the ability to gain Generals which can be assigned to military units. Either way, Civ 4 is very addicting.

The Downlaod Manager isn't really a manager at all. It's next to worthelss. The previous downlaod mangers I have used always "kept" my place during the download. Not this gem.

I bought a four games and started downloading today. I have a "slow" 1.5Mb DSL conenction, so I know it's gonna take some time. I got to about 85% on Bioshock and Windows dutifully restarted after some updates. [I have edited my gp setting to rpevent that from happening again]. Well, after the reboot, I figured the "manager" would figure out where it had left off and start downloading from there. Nope. I am back to downloading Bioshock for 11 hours. What a piece of crap. Why the hell do I need to install something if it has ZERO intelligence? This is no better than a right-click/save as. I am not quite pissed, but pretty freaking annoyed by this.

That's my rant. Just don't stop the download once you start.

I guess different games have different save methods or something in the download manager. I bought World in Conflict and used the manager. I turned it off/on many times and it took me about ~12 hours to get the 6GB of files ( 1.5mbit DSL ) and didn't have any problems. Seems like the download was just a dump of what's on the DVD install discs.

I do wish the manager could throttle downloads though.
