Direct X Problems

I think I made a big mistake, this problem was created by me and now I can't fix it. I wanted to go back to 8.0a because my system seemed to run better with it. So I used DirectXBuster and uninstalled version 8.1. It went fine and I had no DirectX on my computer. 8.0 wouldn't install so I decided to go back to 8.1. I downloaded the Win2k one and installed it. The installation says it installed fine but when I run DXdiag it says all the files are missing. The weird thing is that when I play Medal of Honor it works fine. But when I play Freedom Force it says it need 8.1. Can anyone explain to me the best way to reinstall it?

try to un install again and run setup from you windows disk and then try to run dx8

Where is Direct X located on the WinXP setup disk?

Have you tried System Restore to a point before you changed Direct X, you never know it might work.
