Direct x 8.1

I was just wondering if anyone was experiencing the same problems that I have with DX 8.1 Final. My OS is ME, after i installed it my mouse went crazy, like it constantly stutered, the scroll button and forward and back button did not work. My video card drivers were missing. I don't know what happened but if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. For those who are experiencing these problems I used a program called DirectX Buster to get rid of the DX 8.1 and then just reinstalled 8.0. I want to update my DIrectX to 8.1 but it just won't work so anyone got any ideas?

ME is a quirky O.S. what with all the bloatware, so consider upgrading to XP or removing the bloatware at the very least.

I've installed on 2-Win98se boxes and 2-Win2k boxes with no problems. WinMe has to be the worst OS from Microsoft.
