Most paid wireless lans in coffeeshops/starbucks redirect users upon connection to the wlan.
How would I do this for my lan? I figure it involves sending some sort of command, right? Or maybe when the browser does it's 'autoconfiguration/looks for a proxy', it finds my local proxy, which serves out the homepage? Hm.
I've checked the different wireless Linux router project but as far as I know, I haven't seen any sections that explain how to direct users to my local homepage.
(I would like to explain to users what network they are on, that it is free and legal, and how to contact me for help.)
---------
Also, does anyone have any tips on tracking internet usage with my router?
I noticed my router has a tftp utility- this sends log information from the router to a tftp server on my local network.
Are there any other alternatives?
