Direct Cable Connection Problem

I am trying to use DCC to connect a Win 98SE computer with a Win ME computer. I am using a db25 parallel port cable. I followed the directions of this page But DCC keeps giving me a "Cannot connect to the host computer" message on the guest computer. I was wondering if anyone has done this before (with a similar setup) and if you ran into this problem how did you solve it? Thanks!

BTW sorry, if this has been asked before. I tried searching but couldn't come up with anything.

Your're probably right. I was being cheap but now I'm just annoyed I can't do it.

Any other suggestions?

make sure the parallel cable is a bidirectional one, they're kinda expensive. Make sure you're using EPP, maybe ECP will work too. If worst comes to worst, the old serial cable never fails =)
