Has anyone ever heard of this? I googled and came up with nothing except sunny-side up egg dipping, which I don't think is the same thing...

I ALWAYS do it.

Is this pretty much how everyone cooks it? Any other tips for cooking?
(Was already thinking about it as an early v-day breakfast as classes screw up any way to do it on V-day...boo college life)

I do that with the yolks in eggs over-easy. Seems pretty normal that others would do that with a soft-boiled egg.

I don't do that but I do use toast to mop up the yolk when I eat fried eggs over medium.

my wife and I stayed at a bed & breakfast in Holland and it had free breakfast. the lady comes out and gives us each a boiled egg in that little holder and toast. I cracked mine and it was soft boiled. i called her over and she knew immediatly what was wrong and said im sorry i didnt know you were Americans and went and got us hard boiled eggs. thinking this kind of odd I looked around and noticed the place was full of brits all slopping up their soft boiled eggs with their toast.

Yep. I can't stand sunny side up, but over easy eggs are great for dipping toast.
Runny whites = nasty
Runny yolks = tasty

When I have eggs that are over easy or over medium, I use a fork to tear off the layer of white that covers the yolk and then dip toast, biscuits, tortillas, whatever in the yolk. That's by far my preferred way of eating eggs. I've never done it with a soft boiled egg, but it seems reasonable enough.

It's just a different way to eat them that doesn't involve pan-frying...I do it from time to time because it's easier to clean a pot of water than a oiled up pan.

I used to have that all the time when I was younger, but haven't for AGES. I think I know what I'm having for breakfast soon :)

I don't like runny eggs, I always break the yokes. But eggs are great, and they're so cheap.

What you do is break open the egg so the yolk spills out. First cut the white part around where the yolk used to be off. Then stab it with a fork so it lets the yolk out. Now let all the yolk out and put the middle part on the bread/toast and eat it. Then dip the remaining bread/toast in the yolk that's on the plate. Throw away the white part of the egg, it sucks.

If you like to dip your toast in egg jizz, then you'll love this:

Man in a raft

Take a buttered up frying pan and heat it up. Get a small glass (or biscuit/cookie cutter) and cut a holle in the center of a peice of bread.

Put bread into frying pan and brown lightly.

Take one egg and pour into center of bread. Fry to your liking.

Wala! Man in a raft!

Consumable eggs are not baby chickens. If you ever get a fertilized egg in your egg crate, you will know what I mean.
