Hey, we got new smilies...cool :)

Alright, so tomorrow's my night to cook dinner for the roommates...anyone have suggestions? I'm thinking quick and easy because I have a problem set due the next day. We've been doing this rotating cooking thing for a while and it's getting harder and harder to be original...

Appetizer - Chips and baked crab dip
Main Course - ?
Side - ?
Dessert - ?

Any suggestions?

Main Course: spam and cabbage boiled with teriyaki sauce
Side: spinach in bbq sauce with oregano soaked in vanilla extract
Dessert: fleas with pureed baked beans, as a coating for cherry popsicles

you'll never be asked to cook again!

Assuming beef is OK and you have access to a grill....

Main course: Korean-style steaks with spicy cilantro sauce.

Side(s): Sauteed spinach and mashed Yukon Gold potatoes.

Dessert: Sticky rice with mango.

Spinach: clean and chop spinach. Sautee onions, garlic in olive oil. Add spinach to pan. Stir in white wine, sherry, soy sauce or whatever sounds good and simmer until spinach is cooked.

Taters: peel, chop and boil them until done. Add some cream or half-n-half, butter and salt. Mash until creamy.

If you want to do wine: a nice spicy red Zinfandel or Pinot Noir would work. A sweeter white like a Sancerre or Gewurtztraminer would also pair well with the spicy steak.

Check your local specialty asian market for the sticky rice.

The steaks can marinate overnight as well. This should save you some time so you're not left with too much to do tomorrow.
