Dining ideas in LA/Santa Monica/Westwood/Downtown area

So, anyone have any suggestions? I was going to go to Lawry's on La Cienega, but there are no open reservations.

Any ideas on places that are NOT part of a mall or a huge chain (like PF Chang's, etc.) I know Lawry's is a chain, but at least it's a small chain 🙂

I want something kinda romantic as well.

Thanks!

i heard c&o the italian place is good. never actually eaten there, but work has ordered it when we worked late and its really good.

also pf changs is terrible. dont eat there.

love c&o's trattoria, big poritions, and their garlic bread rolls are sooooooooooo good.

it's in marina del rey, dunno if that's too far out for you.

i didn't eat out much at non chain places however.

i also liked versailles, but its not very romantic.

there are tons of awesome restaurants in santa monica on ocean blvd. any one of them would be great, get some patio dining for an ocean view, you cant beat it.

versaille is definitely not romantic and it is a chain. i know there is one on venice, and there is one in redondo beach and probably more.
