From watching the news, they talked about a SECRET event that's held all around the world, called, Diner En Blanc.

Basically it's a SECRET event where they give you simple instructions on what to bring, and you must wear all white.

This is a pretty unique idea and I wish I could take my GF to these kind of events. She's into Broadways, Plays, Movies, etc so this fits in with those trendy things.

Anyone ever heard of it or been to it? Oh and if you have an invite code, hook me up 🙂

These have been around for a little while. They were on Top Chef Masters this season. I know a lot of people have been campaigning to have events in their cities. Does seem like fun.

After reading some of the info, I can't believe people are wanting to attend this event. Dishes must be china. Nothing disposable allowed! No plastic! Bring white folding chairs, bottle openers, full place settings, silverware, a folding table, a cutting board for bread or cheese, a white tablecloth, a wine bucket, dress all in white (you must dress "elegantly"), no handbags for women, set up your table when you arrive but you can't sit down until every table in your entire row has set up... on and on and on.

Men must all sit on one side of the row and women on the other because that's "more photogenic" (same sex couples exempt). Bring your own wine or champagne - no hard liquor or beer. Bring your own food after paying $30ish a person just to attend.

Don't forget the white or transparent umbrella and/or poncho. Event goes on no matter what.

If you sign up and don't attend you are banned for life.

this was one of the challenges on the last season of Top Chef Masters.

IMO, looked super dumb and the attendees seemed smug/snobby annoying as hell

Well, the site does say they are brought together by a love of beauty and good taste, and they must conduct themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance and etiquette.

So I agree, it sounds quite snooty. Generally when I hear someone cite "good taste" it is a euphemism for "what rich people do".

Keep your pinky finger outstretched when sipping that cup of tea!

it's not a secret lol

friend went, said it was okay. kind of a PITA cuz she went all out but only had a party of two. Would be fun if you could get a large group of like minded people together and get smashed.
