Do you think $395 TOTAL, is a good price for the following config@Dell Outlet:

Pentium IV (2.80GHz, 800 FSB)
Microsoft Windows XP Home
256 MB DDR SDRAM, 400 MHz
1.44 MB Floppy Disk Drive
80 GB EIDE SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
56Kbps Data/Fax Modem
48X CD RW Drive
16X DVD ROM Drive
Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit ADVANCED HD Audio with 100dB Perform
Integrated Video

Not for gaming. You'll need to put in a graphics card, and the power supply and/or cooling might not support anything good like a 6600GT.

Consider an A64 2800+ - 3000+ system with parts from newegg.com (or ZZF or mwave) instead. It will probably cost more but will be much faster for games, especially if you get a 512 MB stick of DDR instead of that 256 MB.

* $200 socket 754 A64 2800+ retail CPU plus Chaintech mobo
* Antec SLK3700 case
* 512 MB value RAM
* XP Home OEM (or Pro OEM)
...

for $540, I got a [refurb] 4700, p4 3.4, 1gb ddr2, dvdrw and dvdreader....

i added 2 36gb raptors, adaptec raid card and x800xl card, its a beast now.
