I'm building a computer for my cousin. So far this is what i have for him:

MSI K7T Turbo
Duron 800
256 mb RAM

He wants a high end system (video & multimedia wise) as he will be a big gamer and DVD player.

TV tuner and video out is a must. He just gave me $450 to buy more parts. I need the following:

7200 RPM 40 gig Hard Drive
Video Card
DVD ROM
CD Burner

I'm looking for opinions and suggestions. I can get a Gforce2 64mb video card and a seperate TV tuner card for less $$$ than a Radeon AIW.

Thanks

if he wants a high end entertainment system i think hed enjoy the aiw. Its got superior 2D, TV Tuning etc, Tv-out, and a built in DVD decoder (Rage Theater chip). Look around in the FS/T Forum. Theres a lotta good stuff in there from a lotta good ppl. You should be able to get everything you need for $450 in there.

I've got a 1g Tbird running on an MSI K7Turbo board and love it

I picked up

40 gig 60GXP IBM Deskstar

64 mg retail Radeon vivo

OEM SB Live 5.1

From Newegg for very reasonable money and that was like a month ago, prices have gone down even further. The Deskstar rocks, this drive is so fast and so quiet,I don't even hear it while it's defragging.

I also picked up a 10 Pioneer DVD player on the boards and am very happy with the setup.
