Um....$165 (assuming it's round trip) is cheap as hell.
 
yea i could never figure out the really high prices amtrak charges. wtf... no wonder they have to be government subsidized

Other tips to get lower fares:

- Make sure you stay over a saturday
- Check tomorrow morning. Supposedly new fare schedules are posted every Wed. morning.
- Check with the smaller carriers on the route. For example, in the Southwest US, Frontier airlines and Southwest have very very good rates compared to the major airlines.

Word. I took GH from Atlanta to Savannah once and it took twice the time it'd take to just drive myself down there with all the damn stops. Avoid them like the plague.

how much you think I will spend on gas for 20hour drive? I am not sure if I am up to such long drive. It's not really over $60 a lot more cause I would have to get hotel for couple days,taxi's.

Dude, that's basic math. Divide the total miles by your car's average highway MPG. Multiply that by whatever a gallon of gas is these days. Done.

Bottom line, you'll spend more time AND money if you drive. Buy the damn plane ticket and STFU.
