Digital Vibrancy issue with video playback

Whenever I play a video file in WMP 10, its normal. However, when I load the same file in MPC or VLC, the video is extremely vibrant, producing odd yellow hues and glows. I know its not a hardware issue because WMP10 can play them without issue, and I know its not the players because they play fine when I stream them over the LAN to my notebook.

I remember having the same problem in WMP10, but I don't remember how I fixed it, and why it didn't work with MPC and VLC is anyone's guess.

Playing with the color controls and the digital vibrancy in the Nvidia control panel did nothing.

This is a 6800GT running the latest Nvidia drivers from their website, rev 77.72; all playing a Dell 2005FPW hooked up with DVI to the video card.

What is causing this?

Using that section, I can improve it, but it still has the hues, varying from yellow-orange, to a deep orange, to almost red in some cases.

Is this a bug in Nvidia's drivers or what?

Edit - I see in the Driver thread that the Nvidia 77.76 drives have resolved the 'color bug'. I'll DL and install those, see what happens. I usually don't like to install beta drivers though.

Edit 2 - Didn't resolve it. Did do a nice job of borking my resolution settings though. For some reason, it thought I was running DualView in clone mode, even though it was previously set to Single Display. . .

I'm sorry Bateluer, but the blame goes to the nV driver team they have to much going on apparently.

Such as futzing with SLI . . .what % of people use SLI again? Less than 1% of Nvidia's customer base? I guess its a prestige thing, but I'd rather have them fix their bugs first.
