hows the distortion on that thig?

Depends...check out the Germany series...if you tilt the camera/lens too high, you do get distortion...I kind of like it though.

Is the EF-S lens a true 10-22mm on a XT or 16-35mm?

It's EF-S, so it's designed for APS-C sensors like those found on the 300D/350D/20D. So the 1.6x multiplier applies.

Bought mine at Amazon for $750. B&H sells it for like $730 now. You can sometimes get a good "DELL deal" on it, but they delay and delay before they finally ship.

i'm in the market for a sigma 10-22 or a tokina 12-24 for my nikon d70. i'm loving the wide angled shots 🙂

this was taken at 18mm from my kit lens (18-70). it was taken at the hickory run state park's boulder field at the middle of the pocono mountains in pennsylvania this past weekend. those tiny figures in the distance are people.

Thanks for the info GT.

How did you like that B&B? We are looking for something for a nice 3-4 day weekend soon...

I like the Utah pics, but the building distortion isn't for me. Think I'll see what PS can do out of curiousity.

B&B is very nice. Very homey. Great breakfast. Can't comment on nightly rate as the GF paid! 😛

But the perspective is still of a 10mm lens, which is dramatic.

Have you tried some 360° panoramas? With this lens, it wouldn't that many shots.

great pics! How much did you post process these?

Those in the original link in my OP: some cropping and size reduction.

The 1280x1050 pic: cropping, size reduction, red saturation reduction, slight adjustment of brightness and contrast, and some sharpening. In PhotoShop.
