Need a phone? Uniden.com has an outlet store with prices that can't be touched in any retail store. I have purchased 5 phones for myself and family during the past week. 900 MHz DSS, answering machine, CID, Speakerphone, etc. for $19 plus ~7 shipping. All phones are in 100% perfect condition and include all accessories. If you care about MSRP's these sold for $199 - $299 in the stores. They have other 2.4g and 5g phones if you are interested. Order to delivery is about 3 business days.

I've bought from them several times before this and have never had a problem.

The site says refurbished but I have yet to find any sign that the ones I bought have ever been out of the box, not a spec or scratch anywhere. Most returns or refurb items that I have seen in the past from various vendors show some indication that they were used and re-packaged - not the ones I got.

I think the DSS models that I bought may have reached the end of their market cycle and were listed there to clean out some warehouse space. At this rate, everyone I know may end up with a cordless phone for Christmas. Just need a simple phone for the kid's bedroom? Get a digital for a whopping $9 plus S&H.

I am not associated with Uniden in any shape, form, or fashion. I just think this is one hell of a deal for someone in the market.

I bit. I ordered the $19.00 900MHz phone w/Answering Machine for $26 shipped. I hope it sounds a lot better than the $10 AR Curtiss phone I got from OM. I can barely understand what people are saying with that one.

Thanks Texun!

2.4ghz digital from $29

I had this same phone (bought new) for around a year and a half and about a month ago it just died. Replacing the battery did nothing and it was no longer under warranty. Not to say all these phones are bad, just my experience. I went back to a regular old corded phone (works during power outages too, lol)

Older Uniden phones, and most of the cheapo deals on their website are old phones, are bad news...
They have a few newish models which are quite good, but none of those appear in the bargain basement refurbs.

I went through the list and ultimately passed. For < $30 I can get the new model Uniden phones.

The list prices on the site are a joke, too. Yeah, sure, some of those phones might have listed for that 5 years
ago (yup, some of those phones are five or more years old), but no way now...

They are not for everyone. This is my second time to buy from their online store. The last 2 cordless phones are 3 years old and still work fine. I prefer the older models to the newer ones because I have very large hands and hate the new look and feel of the smaller models.

I like the look and feel on the Uniden phones a lot, no question. I just wish the older phones were acceptably clear. Too many echo effects, stuff like that.

HEh.... I picked up the "TRU5885-2 5.8 GHz Digital Spread Spectrum Cordless Phone with Caller ID and Answering System $179.00"

at my local Costco for about $169 a few months ago......works great.....and if I ever have problems, full refund paid in cash. Can't beat that.....

$179 at Uniden for a refurb'd unit? No thanks.....

I will say that the range on this model is decent....but my 2yr old 900mhz Toshiba phone is about 2x the range....maybe 200yds through several houses on level ground....this Uniden can barely make it to the end of my driveway (100ft + a few walls in my house).

I got the EXI8965 ($19). It has all of the features that I needed and won't interfere with my 2.4ghz wireless network. Thanks!

I got the EXS2050 "900 MHz Digital Spread Spectrum
with All Digital Answering System" Refurbished.

It's great! Very clear. I live in a studio, so I can't say what the maximum range is. My other three cordless phones (including two other 900 MHz phones) didn't have the same range - I guess all the concrete/steel and interference from everybody else's phones/microwaves/etc really screws up reception around here.

The phone itself looks brand new. Everything came in little plastic bags, and the only reason you'd know it's a refurb is because the one-year Warranty in the manual is crossed out (the refurbished units have a 90-day warranty). The handset is very solid, and I like the big rubbery light-up buttons.

Thanks for the heads-up, Texun! I was all set to bite the bullet and pay $70 for a good phone until this deal showed up.

Glad I could help. I bought the same model as you and have not had a single problem. I've bought a total of 7 for myself and family and all but one have been perfect. The one odd ball in the bunch is the 2060 model. Sometimes I have to press the Talk button 2 or 3 times to get it to go off-hook but the rest are perfect.
