Burn - Although it doesn't apply to your camera specifically here's what I posted in
this thread regarding digital cameras:
I don't have a lot of time but I thought I'd chime in on your situation. First of all you're going to get the best deal if:
1) First of all find out which digital camera you want, read REVIEWS! Here's your best options:
Imaging-Resource.com
DPreview.com
DCResource.com
Steves-Digicams.com
C|Net.com Camera Reviews
Epinions.com
Amazon.com Customer Reviews
2) You are an expert with
Hot Deals price matching Staples, using coupons and rebates in particular. Look at all the
digital cameras that Staples.com carries which meet your minimum specs. Then try and find some digital cameras which are offering rebates (such as $50 Fuji Finepix 1400). Now find this same camera at another web site using price searching engines such as pricewatch.com pricegrabber.com or shopper.com then use a Staples.com coupon to lower the price, then price match, to top it off send in the rebate.
3) You should know this one, check out the
General Hardware forum and search for CAMERA you'll find close to 20 threads. Look in the archived over 45 days old threads and you'll even find some great "What is the best digital camera for under $200?" threads. These threads are a wealth of knowledge.
Find the right camera and the right bargain and you'll be in bliss.
I personally LOVE my feature packed Fuji Finepix 1400 and with the $50 rebate, dropped it down to $49 [deal expired].
I'm not sure if this deal is still valid or not but you could get the
Kodak DC3200 for $156.72 with no rebate hassles from Staples.com after coupon and price match - both of which are very easy if you know what you're doing. Before deciding if it's worth the effort check out
this review which even has sample pictures.
