Whatever interpolation thang the camera does to make 1600x1200 pics really musses up the quality.

1280x960 Not a bad looking pic considering the size of the camera

1600x1200 Gaaaa...something bad happens here

And as was stated, its not made to replace ANY high MP camera. More a more portable solution.

I do kinda like the Logitech one, might try to find me some reviews on that one.

That's The EX-S1 / EX-M1 that had to interpolate

The EX-S2 and EX-M2 have a "TRUE 2-megapixel imager so it creates native 1600x1200 size images" .. (no interpolation)

I'm comparing shots from the Casio S2 and the Canon S330 and I don't see much difference.

I think the thign it's truly lacking is the zoom and features. PLus it uses damn SD memory.

I was going to get one of these little things for $35, but it looks like there might be some good alternatives here.

I have one of those. The optics is really horrible and you need to correct the picture for contrat and brightness in your computer. It takes 640*480 pics and I guess it's Ok for $35. It can store around 20 pics IIRC. Works as a webcam too.
Pretty neat.

try looking into the minolta dimage X- smaller than the s200, and has a 3x optical zoom.
Disregard this, the Dimage is also pretty bad. Better than this one, but still no match for Canon's cams.

The Dimage-X is not bad at all!!

Here.. check out all my pics from the NYC Thanksgiving day parade using it..
Parade pics

They were taken at fine quality at 1600x1200.

For the convience of having a tiny camera, it is well worth it.

The Dimage X, which I used for those pics go about $220 on the internet, give or take $15 bucks.

The announced the Dimage Xi though, which is 3MP and has more features.. don't know much more about that one though, or when you will be able to get one.

No offense man, but image quality of those pics is terrible. Mega distortion going on there. Felt like I was looking through a fishbowl.

Urm.....

I think you are being a bit too picky.

I mean, some are out of focus because the camera didnt focus quick enough on the moving things, but other then that I thought they looked pretty good.

How is this quality bad?

You print these things up at Wal Mart and such and they look like normal film pictures.
