Any recs on a camera (preferably that can do 720p video as well), that can be operated and held primarily with a left hand?

My dad had a bad tablesaw accident a few months ago and doesn't have much use of his right hand for the time being and for the near future. They are taking a trip to Scandinavia next spring and was hoping to find a camera that would be easy for him to both hold and operate with his left hand.

This came up on FredMiranda a while back: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/784871/0?keyword=left#7208930

I think the consensus was that no one model would work particularly well, but the user would just have to get creative. You can also try just getting the wire release or IR remote for the camera and velcroing into a position that would allow ease of use from the left hand.

you'd think that with the variation of disposable card-deck sized cameras out there today someone would have invented a left hand variant.

the guy holding the lx3 seems to have the right idea. but using the controls is still a pain in the butt.

Just wanted to give an update that my dad ended up finding something that works perfect for him. He decided that since my mom has a newer digicam, he could concentrate on video.

Ended up picking up a Kodak Zi8 for $149 and couldn't be happier. Complete one handed (left handed) operation. Excellent HD video quality, expandable storage (he already picked up a 16gb SDHC), and a built in USB cord.
