i received this kit today. it will hold my A60, 4 batteries, 2 cf cards in platic cases, and the included mini tripod. comes with a shoulder strap also. the yellow rag i just stuffed down under the camera as i stuffed it in.

the cleaning supplies are no more than some qtips, small rag and some type of lens cleaner(havent tried it yet, as my lens isnt dirty).

not the most flashy or glamourous kit, but it seems to be put together well. the mini tripod has bendable metal for the legs, and holds the camera stable enough for the few shots ive used it for just fooling around. it doesnt swivel, but you can bend the legs to any angle you need. for $5 shipped, id say its a pretty good deal. cheaper than most camera cases alone.

they have some other kits by the same manufacturer, but i cant tell the difference between them. maybe its just a larger case for bigger cameras?

They've added 99c shipping now. Still, at $6, it's not a bad price. I have a little tripod that moves when I try to lock the angle. It's useless. I ordered this to try the flexible-leg tripod. Newegg has the same tripod or one like it for $3 + $3 shipping.

I'm wondering the same thing. How's that little tripod? The legs definitely look flimsy and might not support heavier cameras. But of course, this is just my superficial observation...nothing more.

It's made out of metal and for the size (5 inch), heavy and stable enough. It holds my Kodak DX3600 which barely fits in the bag so I'm thinking it will work with any camera that fits in the bag. I'm sure it won't support a big SLR.

Looks pretty OK to me. I got a free starter kit ($10, free after $10 MIR) that I bought even before I ordered my digicam around 6 months ago. It was through Circuit City and I found that deal right in this Hot Deals Forum (which rocks!). Didn't include a tripod but did include some NiMH batteries (that aren't strong enough to power my digicam!), but included a very nice case - has two zippered compartments, and appears nicer than this one, but this looks not too bad. A small case like that is essential for a digicam, IMO.

I bought one like it 10 years ago in Japan and have used it half a dozen times. Yes, it's nothing like a "real" tripod but has worked well for me with a LIGHTWEIGHT camera (Yashica T-4 at the time) perched on a rock using the self-timer in the Sierra Nevada. I only used it a couple of times in Japan but again, it worked for what I needed. Got to have a surface at reasonable height to set it up unless you want all your pictures to be looking up at a strange angle.

Besides, mine was small enough that I could put it next to the camera in a small zipper carrying case and be sure to have it available. I could spread the legs wide enough to make it reasonably stable.
