Digital Camera Recommendations

Got a S30 love it! The only drawback I have with the camera is the fact you can't stick any off the shelf rechargable batteries in it. You have to either buy the $70 cannon brand or a $40 third party brand. But DANG it takes some ROCKING pics! Stick it on auto for point and shoot simplicity, or dive into this almost totaly configurable manual modes. This is the biggest strength of the S30! White balance, Apeture, ISO (50 to 800!!!), light metering, manual focus, shutter speed, and on and on. Geeze this camera is excelent for a amateur photographer on the go! Cameras like the s230 aregreat if all you'll do is point and click, but if you have any desire for more it will leave you cold.


Right now it's 399 at BestBuy here in Chicago with a free 64meg CF card bonus!

Another vote for the Canon S30
I just bought a Canon S45 for myself, but the S30 is basically the same, slightly older technology. I can only recommend this camera as it fits the hands really well and is easy to handle.
