Should I wait for the new canon cameras or just get the SD550. What new features will I get from the new cameras that would justify on waiting for it?

Thanx

Yeah, I read some sites about the SD700. But does the image stabilizer make the image quality that much better than the SD550? Plus it will cost about $150 than the SD550. I need to get a camera soon. :)

I don't think I can sufficiently emphasize the importance of Image Stabilization (IS) / Anti-Vibration (AV).

3 years from now, it will be standard on all cameras.

Now, most new cameras have IS/AV, but only for when shooting movie mode.

The SD700 is the 1st true compact of which I am aware that has IS/AV.

sony t9 has it as well, i can honestly say the image quality on the t9 is a HUGE LEAP from the t7/t5 probably thanks in part to the IS
