Digital cable filter question

Here at the apartment we have two televisions both hooked up to digital boxes. However, I want to add a third (computer with tv tuner), but don't want to pay for another box since it won't be digital. I know this is acceptable by my cable company, but I heard something about needing some sort of filter. Has anyone heard of this?

at my friends place they just used a nicer one from radioshack to do what you stated and it seems to work, but I didn't buy or set it up, so I am not 100% with this

Just get a threeway splitter that can do 1000mhz or better so you don't lose the digital channels to the two existing boxes. Radio Shack will have em.
