Dig a space, someone steals it? How to handle it?

I'm in Boston and we had a Nor'Easter storm on Valentines day. Now, Initially, after the storm, we all go out and dig out spaces. Well, the slush turned to ice over night and was difficult. So, most vehicles couldn't be moved if they were sub-compact. Due to the wheels sitting in slush and slush turning into ice overnight kept the wheels embedded.

So, Next morning, I went to dig out my vehicle. Took about 45 minutes in the freezing cold, but not bad. Put down the ice melt pellets to make a bit more effective for clearing the space. I put the trashcan down to goto school. I come back from school, and not only is my space taken, but they toss my Trash bin over my fence back into my yard! After all that hard work I put in to dig it out in front of my house, someone has the nerve to take my barrel, toss it over my fence, park their vehicle and not move it? :|

It's a new neighbor, with an Izuzu Rodeo. They have their own driveway, but they won't use the f'n driveway they have and I don't have a driveway. (we're the only house that doesn't have one on the street out of 100.) So, they use my space and expect me to park down the street from my house after already dug out a space for myself in the freezing cold?

I need advice on how to go about getting even or confronting them. Because, this is ridiculous. :|

Just knock on their door and politely ask them to move their vehicle since you don't have a driveway. If they say no, set their vehicle on fire.

So...you don't have a driveway...meaning the "space" you dug out is on the street? ie, You park on the street?

Go knock on the offender's door and ask him to stop being such a (removed) or you'll (removed)-start his head.

A trashcan or other large item is a pretty clear "Space is taken" sign, and he's a toolbox for not respecting it.

Or you can just let the air out of his tires. If he likes that space so much, maybe he can stay there. :p

Definitely shovel all the snow back into their space.

edit: But in all honesty, you should go and confront them about it first.

Water his car all night.

edit: It looks like it's not even 32 during the day. Start watering his car now.

You do realize the space is on public property and anyone is free to park there, right? Reserving a space on a public street has to be one of the most retahded things I have seen people trying to do in Boston. Garages FTW.

Unless the laws have changed and you somehow managed to find a wat to own the street, be a man and quit sniveling. You did not "dig a space", you dug your own car out, nothing more. That does not entitle you to that area for perpetuity. What are you, 6 years old? WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! MOMMY!!!!! The mean people took my spot!!!

It wasn't your spot, it's a public street.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go along with the same sentiments as jiggahertz...It's like saying when I get up early in the morning and get a close parking spot on campus that when I leave people who came later shouldn't get the spot since I put the extra effort in to get it, even when there's a huge open parking lot like 100ft away.
