Different voltage for each core in a dual core processor?

Hi, I have an Opteron 165 and an Asrock 939 dual sata2 board. When I checked the voltage on the CPU in both motherboard Monitor and in speedfan, it says that
VCOREA = 1.36v
VCOREB = 1.78v

is this an error in the monitoring programs, or is this actually true? it seems very very strange. I have nothing currently overclocked and am running bios v1.5

Some of the other settings are quite strange, like it says one of my fAns is running at 25963RPM(!).
Thanks in advance,
Ian

can't be right since the vCore applies to both cores....if you really want peace of mind or to just check to be certain, try checking the voltage on cpuz
