different vid cards showing different screen resolutions

I have an nVidia 6800 OC and when I have it in and the latest drivers, my screen resolutions for my Samsung 19" 191T+ LCD only go up to 1024x768. I put in my old ATI 7500 and it shows up to 1280x1024. Why this descrepency?

Have you removed ATi's drivers?
Have you installed the latest LCD inf?

i had the 6800 in first and it showed only 3 resolutions. I then put in an ATI card,, much older I might add, and it showed many more.

Obviously, the ATI 7500 is a superior card!

Actually, can you try to uncheck "show only settings monitor can support" then force 1280x1024 @ 60hz?
