Just curious.

No way is right or wrong of course.

I prefer inverted, but I'm not a heavy player in anything in particular. I'd say inverted light experience.

Frequently shot rifles? Are you asking us whether or not we use sniper rifles in games often, or what? The poll makes no sense.

EDIT: Oh, do you mean rifles in real life? Never shot one, although I have used shotguns and pistols before.

I'll post here because 86 posts in the other thread=no one really reads anymore...

I can't live without inverted thumbstick in FPS or TPS (third person) in console games...as for Keyboard+Mouse = non inverted. Dunno if anyone else is the same?

thats because a joystick (thumbstick) is designed for flight control, which is natural, but your desktop pointer is configured the other way simply because it's point and click, not meant for aileron and elevater adjustment.

inverted, never shot a riffle, but played flightsims before using the mouse for FPS.

for me:
if mouse is on left hand, then inverted
if mouse is on right hand, then "normal"

A lot of experience shooting rifles
Prefer normal, not inverted

Sorry for screwing up your theory. :(

The preference for inverted mice has everything to do with flight sim experience, and nothing to do with shooting experience. Almost everyone who uses an inverted mouse has been playing FPS games since DOOM or earlier, back when flight sims were popular. We started on flight sims and moved to FPSes later on, and wanted to keep the control the same. Flight sims aren't nearly so popular anymore, and kids jump stright into Halo and Half-life 2 without ever having played a flight sim, so they never got used to flight sim style control.

but seriously, if you're being so consistent, do you invert your desktop pointer? because there's not really a difference. Hey, if you do invert both, props to ya.
