different audio levels in headphones

hey guys just found this place. Anyway a couple days ago for no a apparent reason the audio level on one side of my headphones got so quiet its almost inaudible, but it is still there. now im not sure exactly what to do since its a usb headphone (yaya i know) and there isnt any options except controlling the master volume. any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I haven't used USB headphones before, but I assume that balance control still affects them? Are your balance sliders above your volume controls centered?

Do you have any other equipment you can use to troubleshoot to see if the problem is with the headphones or with your computer's sound settings? (Can you use the headphones on another computer to see if you get the same result)

you're going to have to forgive my utter lack of experience with the audio side of electronics but i cant even find a program anywhere on my computer that would let me adjust the balance control. the only thing i can do to change the levels is that little volume controller thats built into windows. is there a program i can download?

also, i will have to wait a couple days to test these on a different computer

no, i should tomorrow though. guess the only thing to do is wait until then, but are there 3rd party programs that let you adjust the volume of each side of the phone? im not even sure what to call it exactly.
