Differences between these two laptops?

I’m looking at these two laptops and trying to figure out if they are the same frame/motherboard. If I configure them identically, the price is different so I’m scratching my head about what is different.

The two options show are exactly the same PC at exactly the same price. The difference is one of the is prebuilt and you can't change the options and the other gives you the ability' to change the configuration and upgrading or downgrading parts is going to change the price,

The first one has twice as much RAM, 4 times as much storage and a 14th gen CPU vs. a 13th gen CPU. For the same price.

The HX CPUs are the same as desktop ones and they could end up degraded especially if your work involves a lot of single threaded work that causes the CPU to turbo boost as much as possible. Yes, I know that Intel says they have fixed it with a microcode update but do you really want to trust a dying company that has lied to its customers over and over?

I would advise you to check out Meteor Lake H or Arrow Lake HX laptops. And most Ryzen 8000 series laptops should be pretty affordable now.
