In terms of simple comparable differences, not like "they have a better public transportation system".

Measuring system
Dollar/euro
Month/day/year vs day/month/year

adults dont wear shorts in public

I can walk the entire length of a city of 1 million people in 1 to 2 hours. Their cities are much more densely populated.

Germany
- When eating, they will not put their knife down until they have finished eating.
- A common sight in the local gas station at 9AM is three men standing around a small table downing a few beers.
- Deoderant is rarely used.

England
- It is not uncommon for someone to come over and knock you up in the morning
- Smoking fags are everywhere
- A lift will take to the fifth floor of you flat

Amsterdam
- The scent of pot is ever present in the air

That is just some.

Germany
- you can drink freely on public streets, also in the car as long that you are not driving.

You can invade any european country without any fear of resistence.

Not so with America.

Bullsh!t. I didn't run across anyone that smelled actually, and I was even crowded into the Subway in Munich. I'm talking not a foot to spare.

I was eating at a restaurant in San Francisco a while back when I went to the restroom. Some Scandanavian kid came in a little after me. The restroom had one urinal and one toilet, but the toilet wasn't enclosed by walls or a stall. Instead, there was only a small piece of wood separating the urinal from the toilet. Basically, you were supposed to lock the bathroom door if you were going to use the toilet. The European kid looked really confused and then asked me 'Are all toilets in America like this - I don't think I could ever use it without a wall around it. Anyone can see me doing my business!'

So if you ask that European kid, he'll say:

Americans: take a sh!t with anyone watching
Europeans: sophisticated with fabulous doors and walls for a bathroom stall
