Difference in S video and SVGA

I just bought me a little Christmas some-some 😉 My system is a 1.1ghz/512mb/19" and just bought a Gforce 2ti titanium card with S-video out, I've noticed that all cards I've owned (running in SVGA cable), the text looks fuzzy. Does S-Video sharpen the sdges up a little on text/overall appearance?

Thank you - Merry Christmas 😉

SVideo is to display your computer on your tv screen...great for graphics, but for text...atleast in my experiences

VGA cables hook up to monitors, S-Video to Televions sets...

and TVs are REALLY fuzzy, so def. not good for text.

Also, if evey card you've tried has had fuzzy text... then its probably your monitor.

Sheeeet-
Now wait a minute here 😉

I thought that you could get a cable that goes s-video from your video card to your computer? I swear I've read or heard that you can use S-video for your computer? That's why I went out and bought the Gforce2 ti with S-video?! to get a sharper image through the monitor......

Crap this 19" monitor is only a year old?! (Gateway 19" EV910).

Why would you want to?

um. no. Svideo is for TV OUT only.

if images on you monitor is blurry with all video cards, then you need to fix your monitor. What resolutions are you running anyway?

Thank you for the replies!

Umm, damn, that makes me think a little. Actually I don't remember things (text, fuzzy) being like this with other cards. Don't get me wrong, the text is clear its just a tiny bit fuzzy around the edges. I'm anal about this crap. I've got drivers correctly installed and the latest. Are the PNY MX400 cards known to be not a sharp image producer?

I've got a new in the box PNY Gforce2 Titanium 64mb, I havent opened. I bought it because it had the Svideo, in which now I know wont do crap for image quality. 😀

So then - If I'm having blurry text with this video card, should I crack open the Titanium in hopes of cleaner text?
The card I'm looking at with the blurry text is a Gforce2 MX400. This 19" monitor (Gatetwat) is only a year old....

Thanks a bunch guys-

My bet is your current video card has crappy RF filters
You can thank cheap ass vendors and a lax nvidia for that

For super sharp text get a video card with a DVI port and an LCD

You are forgetting that image quality is VERY dependant on the quality of the monitor. Some 19 inch Gateway with .28 dot pitch will NOT look as sharp as a 19 inch Trinitron. Changing video cards will not work if you have a cheapo monitor. If you do have trinitron in that gateway monitor then go get a G450 for the best 2d quality on CRTs.
