Difference in Platinum and Standard Corsair Memory?

Is there any difference in the Platinum and Standard (Black) versions of Corsair's memory? Is the platinum a better heat sink or is it just for looks?

I think heatsink is the same, although the platinum might only come with better RAM/lower latencies. (if the specs are the same, then the heatsink doesnt matter.)

the heatsink doesnt really do jack. they are primarily for looks.

If they are the ones ~$200 they are the same memory with just a different heatsink.

no, they use the exact same modules, the only difference is the COLOR... (silver or black)

but, just like with cars, certain colors are more popular, and thus you pay a premium for them sometimes..
