Difference in DVD-Drives

Hey guys, I knwo DVD BUrners are staring to make their way to American Homes. But I was wondering what the difference between each typw of DVD-Drive was. I know there are DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R, DVD+RW. The only thing is, is that I don't know the differences between each one. Can som4one please tell me detailed specs on each of the different types of DVD-Drives. Please give me detailed specs, which one si the best buy, and what DVD Media is compatible with each. Thanks for your help.
