I don't understand this 1/2 + 7 rule.
Just a general guideling on when the other person is too young for you. There have been a few "I'm 22 and want to date a 16 year old high schooler" threads. But that 6 years difference in age is completely different from a 40 year old dating a 34 year old.
So take your age (or theirs if they are older
😉) divide by 2 and add 7. It is amazingly close to what most people consider an acceptable age gap in a couple.
= 14
= 14.5
= 15
= 15.5
= 16
= 16.5
= 17
= 17.5
= 18
= 18.5
= 19
= 19.5
= 20
= 20.5
= 21
= 21.5
= 22
= 22.5
= 23
= 23.5
= 24
= 24.5
= 25
= 25.5
= 26
= 26.5
= 27
etc.
