Difference between UT2003 and UT2004?

hey guys,

is there a big difference between UT2003 and UT2004?
and do people still play 2003, or have they all updated to 2004?

UT2k4 has Assault and ONSlaught. Much better and most people play UT2k4 vs ut2k3.

If you are planning on buying one of them, get UT2k4 for the simple reason that it has everything(Maps etc) UT2k3 does, but with more.
 
alright, i just gave the 2004 demo a try...

it just doesn't seem as fun as the original for some reason; can't quite put my finger on it.

Yeah, I paid about $33.00 for it shortly after release and it's been worth every penny and more. In addition to the regular game play, there's so many mods (including some great single player mods) and mutators for this game that it's about all I've been playing for the past year and a half.
 
Most people thought that UT2K3 was the lowpoint of the series. The original rocked ass, 2K3 was just missing "something", but 2K4 brought the series back to life. Can't wait for UT2K7 next fall!!!!!!!!!!
 
I got the special edition when the game first came out that has all the cool dvd info on the game and such, need to look at those one of these days heh.

And I think the headphones are still in there somewhere. 😛

It was same price as the normal multi cd edition so it wasn't a hard choice to make at the time.

They need to get a few more onslaught servers it seems but it's still fun for a game every now and then.

yea, i'm still amazed at that. one of the best games (still even) and it's priced so low. gotta love monetary depreciation over time 🙂

I can't wait for UT2k7 though. man, that game will kick so much graphic @ss, 😛
 
wow, didn't see this thread take off.

I've been looking for a replacement game for counterstrike 1.6 for a while now, been considering CS:Source or Battlefield2.

I've been waiting for both these games to fall under the $20 region before I buy.

UT2004 caught my attention when I found out it was 10 bucks. It is definately different from what I'm used to, even different from what I remember in the original--it's a lot harder, I've been getting scores in the neighborhood of 7 to 31 or so for deathmatches.

That said, for 10 bucks, I just might pick it up for the mods alone, some of them look really cool.

 
i have the bots set to the one just below godlike and been kicking ass. everything except for double elimination. my f-ing team won't hold a freaking node for two seconds!
