Out of the previews that have been coming out, are there any that show the performance difference between the low-end Core 2 DUO with 2mb cache and the 4mb cache versions, clock for clock?

Just interested, although either way, I'll be keeping an eye on the 1.86Ghz version and then possibly attempt some overclocking.

None that I've seen yet. I suppose you could always assume that the 4-meg l2 chips have a 5% performance boost, but that's just a guess.

Hardware.fr did a preview that included the 2MB L2 E6400/E6300 in French.

At 2.13GHz, the extra 2MB L2 added almost nothing for 3D rendering, Mathematica and TMpeg, <3% for DivX, 5-6% in a couple of games and 7% in WinRAR.

Here's another review of a 2MB E6300, in simplified Chinese. It's less useful because its only compared to two other processors, but it has some additional benchmarks.
