Difference Between Single Side and Double

Hey guys i was wondering .. whats the difference between single sided ram and double sided ram .. and how can you tell if its single or double sided??

lol ... the reason why i ask is because i plan on making a new rig by the end of this yr or maybe early next yr ... and the mobo's reference guide talks about this single sided and double sided ram thing .. and to tell the truth ... im clueless ...

Ricemarine is right. Single sided = chips on 1 side. Usually 256M sticks in 32x8 configuration. Double sided = chips on both sides. 512M sticks in 32x8 configuration, 1GB sticks in 64x8 configuration.

I have some 512 SS ram, I dont believe you can find 1gig SS ram. the only reason it matters to me (and certain others) is that some older chipsets only allow dual channel at 400mhz with SS ram.
