The only difference is that the Kyro II retail comes with Myst III, while the OEM version does not. Also, the OEM version is about $40 cheaper. :)

Both cards have the same 175/175 core/memory clock speed.

Currently neither the retail nor the OEM Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 have TV-out on them. There will be TV-out on future revisions of the Kyro II, but none have hit the stores yet that I've seen. Expect these cards in a few weeks or a month. TV-out was not a big deal for me, as I have a 17" monitor and a 13" TV!! ;)

rickn: I didn't know they were out yet; I haven't seen any yet. Could you maybe post a link to where the original poster could get one? I didn't think they were supposed to be out for about another week or two. But, hey, just because I haven't seen one doesn't mean they don't exist, right? :D

Thanks for the link, rickn, I hadn't seen that before.

$159 seems a little steep, though, considering that the regular OEM card w/o TV-out is only $112 at newegg.com.

yup, too much. I figure since they are the only ones that have it listed on PW they are probably price gauging

Not to mention that ComputerHQ has a crappy rating on resellerratings.com
They were the first ppl to list the Kyro II on PW, I think they were trying to grab those initial sales, but they were trying to do it way above MSRP. Makes me laugh even more at their operation. I have never ordered from them but I read the reviews... My $.02

Here is a picture of the OEM version of the Prophet 4500 Kyro II at newegg. It seems exactly the same as the retail version aside from the fact that you don't get Myst III and the retail box.

TechieJ,

I called Hercules tech support and they verified that the OEM is the same as the Retail with two differences:

a) Packaged software (Drivers vs Drivers and Myst III)
b) Warranty (1 year vs 3 years)
