im in the market for a new hdd and had a look on the maxtor website which did not seem to offer much information in terms of the differences between their hdd series (compared thier quickspecs for 45 and 60)

so can someone explain wat the differences are?

storagereview.com is recommending a western digital drive for "40gb or less" range... any comments on the Caviar WD400BB?

apologies for being such a nuisance...

i have a few of those WDs with the 20GB plattes, they are OK. I swear by my maxtor plus 60s though, nice little drives

Storagereview seems to like the 400BB a lot, but looking at the numbers, the Plus 60 is just as good, if not better. Personally, I'd just feel much safer going with Maxtor, because their reliability and service is some of the best.
