Apart from Higher MIMO ( from 4x4 to 8x8 ) and Frequency Aggregation of up to 100Mhz, are the anything else?

I keep reading the spectral efficiency is higher but i am guessing this is simply because of the two difference above.

And i see mention of PicoCell in QualComm presentation but is there any reason why PicoCell cant be deployed using LTE ( 3GPP Rel 8 )?

Ok answering my own questions :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Carrier Aggregation across contiguous and non-contiguous bands [Rel-10]
8x8 MIMO compared to 4x4 in Rel-8 [Rel-10]

CoMP (Co-ordinated Multi-point Transmission Reception) [Beyond Rel-10]
Relaying support [Beyond Rel-10]

--LTE Relay: Instead of re-broadcasting the signal as a repeater does, a relay receives; demodulates; and decodes the data; applies error correction; and then re-transmits a new signal. Consequently, the signal quality is enhanced with an LTE relay, rather than suffering degradation from a reduced SNR compared with a repeater. UEs communicate with the relay node, which in turn communicates with a donor eNB.

Support for Self Optimizing Networks (SON) [ Some Source Suggest already in Rel-9)
Support for Heterogenous Networks

So Basically the new LTE-A or Rel 10 will only offered the use of higher bandwidth and more MIMO.

P.S - Still looking forward to more Network using VoLTE
