Difference between DVD-RW and DVD-RW Dual

I am planning to buy a DVD writers for my daily backup needs. I do not know the criterias on which a DVD writer should be selected. There are only three brands available in India viz; Sony, LG and Samsung and I feel Sony would be the best.

My main objective is to take a speedy backup and if the dvd can be re-writable without any flaw, I would like to use a re-writable dvd-rw.

Please advise.

My understanding is that currently dvd dual stores twice as much data at ten times the price (per media)

DVD-RW would be much speedier than DVD-RW Dual.
