Difference Between Different Power Leads

I have a 350W SeaSonic Super Tornado. There are three leads coming of this thing and each one has a two or three four prong connectors. These connectors are in different sizes. Does anybody know if these different leads are in parallel with one another? Can I cut two of them off and just use one of them, possibly with a parallel extension?

yes the connectors are in parallel, but there's no need to cut them up aside from making thing "look pretty." They're not hurting anybody and could come in useful in the future. Bare wire is lots of fun but also dangerous, like sky diving. As for extenders and Y-adapters try not to use too many because the added resistance of builds up and thin wires aren't meant to take that kind of load.

Cutting anything off your power supply is potentially dangerous /fatal unless you specifically know what you are doing ..... if you just want to extend them you can get connecting cables to make them longer and if you want to clear up the clutter ; use cable ties gaffa tape to tape things to hidden places

halfpower: your $, your body, your choice. If you do decide to make a modding project out of this, post some pictures. If it works, xsilver promises to make a tutorial out of it. If it doesn't work, I will email it to my friends to we can snicker and laugh.

You are also better off not running all of your drives off of one cable. Split them up. One of the formulas for power loss is P = R x I^2. The resistance of the cables is not changing. So, as current goes up, the power loss in the cable goes up even more. Trying to balance the current through each of the cables is not a bad idea.

Yes, they are all in parallel. But NO!, don't cut anything off your PSU - you may need it sometime down the road (or if you want to sell it later, most buyers will want it as original). Just tie back the extra bundles with zip tie or twist tie.
