difference between cc0 and cb0 ?

I ignore the difference between this processors and how to know what sort of processor i've got (PIII 700E) ... is there a software for that ?

Those are stepping revisions. cb0 .18u PIIIs are capable of SMP (earlier revisions of that CPU had the feature disabled). cc0 is the magic stepping number for doing SMP with .18u Celerons. So, in your case, it doesn't really matter which stepping revision you have between the two.

a simple way to tell is to check the default vcore of the chip. the cCO defaults to 1.7V as opposed to the cBO which defaults to 1.60-1.65V depending on whether it's a fc-pga or slot 1.

If I am remembering correctly, the difference is:

1. A ~%5 shrink, when they went from cB0 to cC0.
2. A few new bug fixes.
3. A few new bugs causing difficulties at high speeds (including one that caused Intel to recall tons of 1GHz+ cC0 chips).
4. cC0s overclock a little bit better, but as always, you can get a dud cC0 chip that will do a LOT less than the average cB0.
