whats the difference between Athlon Thunderbird & Athlon (plain?) I'm really confused and need your help....

1) Thunderbird uses Socket A and has on-die L2 cache
2) Classic uses Slot A and has off-die L2 cache

And also the T-Bird is more easily overclocked. You don't need to open up the CPU casing and add a goldfinger device. Just stick it in and if it is locked do the pencil trick and bingo... Easy overclocking from the mobo!

Tbird - 256KB L2 cache on die cache running at processor speed.
Athlon(original) - 512KB L2 cache off die running at 1/2 or 2/5 or 1/3 processor speed and has higher lantency
