Diff in current X2 AM2 chips and the replacements?

Hello all, please bear with me.

From what I gather, the current AMD AM2 X2 chips are 2x1MB L2cache but they will soon be phased out for 2x500KB L2cache.. What other differences are there? Are they both called "Windsor"? Are there diffs in the die size? Thanks so much. I get closer and closer to upgrading then something else comes out. Lol. I am still puttering along with my old P2-400

1MBx2 X2s will not be replaced by anything. Currently there are 2x512kB and 2x1MB parts, and the 2x1MB ones are being phased out. Basically, the 3800+, 4200+, 4600+ and 5000+ and the 4000+, 4400+ and 4800+ will be retired (these are all X2s, there's also a single core A64 3800+). Yes, both are called Winsor and yes, there should be a difference in die size (otherwise there's no point to phasing out the 1MB parts).
