That's unpossible. Pickles=fruit. Fruit=carbs.

I think the company is full of pickles!

The way they measure calories confuses me. It seems to be an inexact science, at the very least.

Shouldn't hot water contain calories?

A calorie is the amount of energy required to heat 1ml of water 1 degree C, right? From what starting temperature?

Shouldn't hot water contain some calories then?

How do they measure the energy in foods, burn them and see how hot water nearby gets? How much of that energy comes from the air and not the food?

What about food that goes through you? Do calorie counts take into account the fact that a good portion of your food comes out the other end without being absorbed by your body?

1 oz (1/5th of a pickle) is the serving size. (I did not read that - I just had 60% of my daily sodium w/ 2 pickles). . ..

hmm that's weird. maybe it's less than 1calories per pickle and they don't have to list it if its less than 1calories?

edit: just read your last post. i think what i said above might be the case. 1/5th of a pickle is pretty small.

Maybe the FDA makes over .5 grams carbs be listed as 1 gram, and they allow less than 3 calories to be listed as 0? Or maybe they're just lying.

I guess if it is less than one they can count it as zero since your body will use more energy than it gets from the pickle digesting. Normal pickle = 5 calories. 1/5 = 0 ?

It is odd cause they clearly say it has 0 calories. There is a 1-800 number, I think I'll call tommorow and ask. I'll post the results of the conversation here :)

It's all very confusing  Also they're allowed to round down. That's why a 16oz bottle of juice might have two and a half servings in it. They split it up into so many servings and round down on each one so it looks healthier than it is. That's why I've decided to just give up and be a fat piece of crap.

Well, there you go. 2 pickles = 10 g carbs = 40 calories.

how did you come up with that ?

He said the label said that 1 serving = 1/5 of a pickle = 1 gram carbs. 2 pickles = 10 grams carbs = 4 cals/gram * 10 grams = 40 cals.

Actually pickles aren't fruit ;)

Edit: Well to be PC I realized I shouldn't say the above statement. Some pickles stray :D But they are generally vegetables :p

I don't know how many calories they are, but I do know that Weight Watchers assigns them 0 points.

I hereby propose a new fad diet - The Pickle Plan. Pickle your Pudge Away!
