Oooooh, i just thought about this one. Since DIET SOFTDRINK's label has no sugar content, does that mean you will not get cavities? Hmm...... pondering....hmmm...... or maybe it will give you less cavities than regular softdrink. Hmm..... hmmm..... ;)

It still has carbonated water and an acid of some form which are still bad for your teeth.

I've been diabetic for 18 years....switching to diet soda was the easiest thing to do....not eating dessert on a day like today is still the hardest....I agree that diet soda's start to taste like reg soda after so long....but only on certain drinks....I prefer Diet Mt Dew myself....and yes, you can still get cavities from diet soda.....alot of them now contain fruit juice....which has fructose, another sugar...it metabolizes much slower than reg sugar or sucrose. Not to mention to much carbonation can decay your teeth.

For you standard nondiet drinkers like me, here's something you can try. Eat or drink something *really* sweet, then drink a Diet Coke. I guarantee it will taste like dishwashing soap.

haha! that's what i think too.

I used to work in Dairy Queen and I always had to bite my tongue when these big, fat, soccer moms would come in and order some triple-patty combo with extra fat, and then top it off with a Diet Coke. I always felt like saying, "Would you like me to add some grease to your diet pop as well?"

I hate diet sodas. They're worse than regular counterparts even if they have less sugar and are full of empty calories.

Phosphorus is a necessary component of bone but the excessive intake blocks
calcium absorption. Too much phosphorus binds with calcium in your blood, thus making calcium unavailable for your body's functions...

here have been cases where persons typically drinking
quarts of diet soda, finding that the artificial sweeteners contribute to
compulsive eating.    You may have noticed that your
cravings for sweets and fatty foods, and your weight, have increased along
with artificial sweetener use.    One person announced that when they had given up diet sodas they suddenly lost 10
pounds.

Interesting, eh?

<< The only problem is that Aspartame is an FDA regulated carcinogen... >>

Dude, too much sugar (~50grams per can of pop) causes way more heath problems....including cancer :)

I'd never touch diet soda. Do a web search for Aspartame. The stuff had a huge number of consumer complaints when the FDA decided abruptly to stop recording them.
