Splenda tastes like sugar because it's made from sugar... and nuclear waste byproducts! :D

I like Splenda in my coffee. I've tried Diet Rite and 7Up Plus (both with Splenda), and neither was all that great.

On the non-Slenda side of things, I like Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr. Pepper. Diet Vanilla Pepsi is my favorite diet soda.

I also like Japanese girls, fast cars, loud music, and long walks on the beach.

If I put on one of those huge anime masks (worst link of day on something awful a couple of weeks ago) will that cover the Japanese girl part?

It has the same chemical make up of Sugar, however somewhere on the chain come Clorine atoms are substituted in insted of Carbon atoms. There hasn't been extensive testing on this so the people who drink it first for a few years will tell us whether it is safe or not by either staying alive or getting complications.

One thing's for sure. It is hard to get worse than aspertame. (ie. Proof it causes Brain Tumors)

For you, I won't even require the mask! Just roll yourself in Splenda and we'll say it's all good. ;)

You're just full of fear mongering misinformation, aren't you?

Splenda, discovered in 1976, has been in use commercially since 1991 in Canada.

Splenda has passed over 100 peer reviewed studies (actual scientific studies) over 20 years and has not shown harm in any of them.

There is not one single peer reviewed and repeated study showing ANY link between aspartame and "brain tumors." "Proof" my ass.

actually.. there were. He left out the fact that it was basically boiled/fried aspartame/saccharine. When you fry (HEAT) it outside of water it turns into embalming fluid and is bad for you.

Basically.. don't let diet coke evaporate, then fry the leftovers and eat 10lb's worth because it will cause brain tumors..

can you really taste a difference? i thought the chlorine in splenda just kept it from getting absorbed, but it still had the same chemical effect on your tongue as sugar, hence the exact same taste

this tastes different. I dunno that i'd call it chlorine. They switch a carbon with a chlorine in a sugar molecule.. or something.

it tastes like an off brand soda. sweet but no aftertaste that i can detect.. or not bad like aspartame...

I HATE Splenda. I think it replaced the sugar in a cereal I was used to and the taste was horrible. Especially the after-taste. The same goes for diet soft drinks. The taste just lingers and makes everything taste horrible.

that is such BS. both from the same scam-artist-looking website and both saying that there are 'not enough studies' and that's it. stupid.

i admit i have some doubts about mercola also.

do you care to enlighten me on how splenda isn't unsafe?

how about you enlighten ME on how isn't safe first.

those websites tell you what you need to know... the first 70+ studies on aspartame was showing it was harmful... so all the other studies promptly followed. There are have been 76 (as qouted by that website anyway) on sucrolose... ALL saying that it is not harmful. It (as qouted by your website) been used in canada since 91 with no reported problems.

I've been drinking Diet Coke w/ splenda for about two weeks now. Yummy stuff. Almost identical to regular coke. Way better than the Diet Rite I had been drinking.

You do know it's proven that diet coke with splenda causes hampsters growing up in a microwave in a pennsylvania basement carved from bedrock to get thyroid cancer, right?
