Diet Advice from Weight-Challenged People

So my job requires me to put in very long hours on some days...and on those days my eating schedule can be really off. Really early breakfast...very little or nothing for lunch...and then a late dinner. So this lady who is my counterpart at the client I'm working for tries to tell me that my late dinner is going to go straight to my gut and that I'm going to get fat.

This lady is easily 300 pounds, eats crap food all the time (ex. her lunch yesterday was a McD Quarter Pounder, Fries, and a Coke), and smokes like a chimney. Not only am I slim, but I run an average of 25-35 miles a week depending on my training schedule. I also eat significantly healthier food than she does. This isn't the first time she's said something to me...and I've heard her criticize many other people with regard to their eating habits.

It got me thinking about how often I get dieting advice from people who really shouldn't be giving it out given there obvious lack of skill/discipline in that area. I find this behavior amusing. It's like someone who is horrible at procrastination trying to give me advice on how to manage my time with regard to my workload. The irony is fantastic.

A meal before bed is actually encouraged. 🙂 But yeah, I've heard similar stuff from other overweight people that I know. You should bring something for lunch though!

I'm not disagreeing with her comments necessarily...and my lunch problem has more to do with time than not having food available (and I rarely eat nothing...that was just an example of some of the bad effects my job has on my diet).

You didn't make a sarcastic comment? I'm sure it was tough to resist.

I work with her day in an day out...I piss her off enough with all the "requirements" I shoot down...no need to piss her off more with sarcastic comments about something she is obviously sensitive about (I'm assuming her insecurities prompted her to give me the advice).

I was going to say some overweight people still know a shitload on diet/working out ect. (I gave advice as 375 pounds...I'm sure people laughed at it than, but I'm down to 205 now so obviously it worked). Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut you said she still eats like shit, so meh. I use to believe that about eating before bed, carbs before bed, try to eat cottage cheese before bed..ect. I'm of the mindset if I can fit it into my daily macros, I can eat it at anytime I like.

overweight people that desire to be thin tend to research things thoroughly in hopes it will work for them. i know i do, all the time, even knowing its just a willpower thing for me. i dont give others advice on weight loss however, i thought that would be a bit pretentious. now, if i finally did lose this 90lbs extra im carrying, id be on the intarwebz selling dvds.

Just remember...You can eat all the fattening food you want, as long as you drink diet soda with it...it cancels out all the calories and fats.

So that's the secret! :Q

Should have responded with, "Ahhh, so that's your secret..." or "Well, I guess if anyone would know, you would..."
